Copper-based Networks (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat 6a and Cat 7)
Office computers, printers, CC machines, and many other office IP endpoints typically are connected with a copper network. Copper-based networks are the most common and economical. There are several types of cables. Customers who need a higher data speed network will need a more robust cable with higher throughput speeds such as the Cat 6 or Cat6a cable but for most businesses, the Cat 5e will work. Our technicians can install a new network or make changes to an existing one. Politon creates a custom-tailored solution for each individual client.
Fiber-Optic Networks (Singlemode, Multimode, 10 Gig)
Fiber-optic networks have the ability to overcome challenges that traditional copper networks cannot. Distance and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) from large machinery can affect copper networks but not fiber since it is light inside of the glass as opposed to electricity in a copper strand. Distance is another factor that sets its self apart from copper. Copper networks maximum distance is about 330 feet as opposed to single mode fiber which can travel for miles. There multiple types of fiber cable for different applications as well as connections. Politon has been installing Fiber Optic Networks since 2009 and can help integrate your fiber and copper networks. We have Certified Fiber Optic Technicians (CFOT) as well as Certifid Fiber Optic Specialist in Testing & Maintenance (CFOS/T) on staff that have been trained by the The Fiber Optic Association, Inc.
